I have been trying to get ChatGPT 3.5 to give me 30 questions on the topic of poodles and then, at the end, give me 30 answers related to the questions. This it manages with ease, but what it is not giving me is the questions in a numerical order with the answers.

For some reason, it is either adding bullet points at the start or just the questions. I have tried all ways to get a numerical list. What would be the correct prompt?

I tried this, first of all, using your suggestion
Prompt: Please provide the questions and answers in two ordered lists, one for questions and one for answers.

I then tried using your suggestions as is

Okay, but which one of those prompts includes the example of 30 numbered questions and 30 numbered answers, for ChatGPT to understand the pattern you want the answer to match?

Here is the most recent one I have tried, but I am still getting the same results.

Prompt: Please produce the questions and answers as follows: 1. question; 2. question, and so on until 30. Then, at the end, list the answers as the same: 1. answer, 2. answer, and so on until 30.

ChatGPT: Certainly! Here are the questions and answers presented in the requested format:

I am not sure what else to try?

Here you are, I literally copy-pasted your prompt.

I think I know your problem now.

You are trying to copy the text with manually selecting the text, so you get the text without the bullet points or the list numbers … :smile:

Wow, firstly, thank you, RealityMoez, for helping me. I feel so stupid that it was as simple as this to resolve; I just assumed the numerical listing would show up in the output.

Is there a reason why ChatGPT does not show the numerical list, and the only way to see it is by copying and pasting?
